Fall River Arts Carnegie Hall Performance

Dear Students & Parents,

We are very excited to announce that the Fall River Arts Academy is returning to the most prestigious stage in New York City - Carnegie Hall, on Saturday, March 18th, 2023. The elegant, intimate Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall is home each season to hundreds of recitals, chamber music concerts, panel discussions, and master classes. At many of these events, you’re likely to find young musicians making their New York debuts.

As always, we'll be taking care of business and all of the details so that you can have peace of mind knowing that the day of the performance will go smoothly and that you and your appearance at Carnegie Hall will be positive and memorable. Imagine the transformation that your student will go through by preparing for and participating in this event. Big events like this are known to bring out the best in performers - abilities that have always been there, but just hadn't been uncovered yet! You'll be able to tell your friends, family and neighbors that your child had the opportunity as well as the confidence to play at the grandest stage in New York City! Not to mention the credibility of being able to add the performance to your child's resume and college applications!

Please read the following instructions carefully to ensure a smooth

registration process.

‍

Registration is open NOW on a first-come first-served basis for Fall River Arts Academy students of ANY level. Only currently enrolled students can perform and must maintain continuous enrollment in private lessons through March 31st, 2023 to remain eligible to participate. Once enrolled, performance pieces can be discussed with the student’s current teacher.

NOTE: The performance at Carnegie Hall is an acoustic performance. If your solo piece needs accompaniment by a pianist/guitarist we must know when your piece is selected.

Performance Guidelines:

PER CARNEGIE HALL POLICIES STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO PERFORM WITH A BACKING TRACK!

- Voice students will perform without a microphone and accompanied by a pianist/guitarist.

- Drummers will play a drum kit. They can play a drum solo or a concert snare drum piece. They may also play a piece accompanied by a piano or guitar player.

- Small amplifiers are allowed for Guitar and Bass players and will be provided by the Academy the day of the recital. If the student owns an acoustic instrument they may play on that if it is preferred.

- If any performer would like any type of professional accompaniment it will be $100 per musician for hire. The Academy will have a pianist and a guitarist available for hire for anyone who would like to use them (especially vocalists).

Ticketing:

All non-performers will need a paid ticket to attend the show. Additional show tickets will be available for sale on carnegiehall.org on Monday, December 19th, 2022. Ticket price is $25 and are limited to 200 seats so purchase them early!

Transportation & Lodging:

Performers and their families are responsible for securing their travel and lodging. Families are welcome to stay anywhere they like in New York City. There is a nearby hotel called Park Central which is right across the street with reasonable nightly rates. There are many nearby parking garages available as well.

IMPORTANT

There will be a professional photographer on hand to take professional photos of all of our performers. There is absolutely no video allowed at Carnegie Hall for this show. If Carnegie Hall Personnel see anyone taking pictures or video you will be asked to leave and they will delete any pics or video from your device. We hire only the best photographers in Manhattan to take photos at Carnegie Hall so you can trust us with this one. You will get some amazing pictures of your performance.
